Recently, it was announced that StomaCloak was nominated for the LakeShore Innovator of the Year Award. We sat down with StomaCloak President Pat Camp to get her reaction.
Pat, what is the Lakeshore Innovator of the Year Award?
The Innovator of the Year award is an award of recognition for a business or organization along the LakeShore judged to have the most creative problem-solving product or idea.
Who Nominated StomaCloak for this Prestigious Award?
The Muskegon Chapter of the Michigan Inventors Network
How did you feel when you found out StomaCloak was nominated?
I received an email from Kevin Ricco, Director of the Muskegon Innovation Hub, congratulating the StomaCloak Med 5 team for being nominated and selected as one of 5 finalists!
I had to read the email 3 times before it became a reality!!!
I felt so completely humbled and very honored.
Why do you think StomaCloak was chosen as a finalist for this award?
Responding to the needs of patients with bowel and bladder diversions, we created a truly unique product that helps improve the lives of ostomates locally, across the United States, and around the world.
Lastly, is there anyone you would like to thank for helping StomaCloak achieve this recognition?
I would like to thank the ostomates, families, and caregivers around the world who have supported us offered feedback and helped us make this product what it is today. I would also like to thank the members of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Society (WOCN) who have recommended our product to their patients and the United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) for their support.
